Christmas gifts with IWOOT.
There are always two types of people at this time of year, the prepared and the unprepared. Usually I’m so unprepared I’m spending the week before Christmas running around like a loon trying to get presents bought, wrapped and cards written. This year I had everything done with two weeks to spare although that hasn’t stopped me virtually window shopping.
IWOOT (Iwantoneofthose.com) have kindly sent me a set of construction eating cutlery for Jack to try out and we thought it would be the perfect stocking filler for tots, practical yet fun.
The construction eating set consist of a fork lift fork, a front loader spoon and pusher in the form of diggers, a sure hit with any boy. The pusher helps to bridge the gap between learning to finger feed and learning to use a knife. Jack being 17 months old would probably have his eye out with a knife but is keen to feed himself. With non slip handles and the ability to push them round the high chair tray, Jack learns as he plays.
My only criticisms would be that the prongs on the fork could do with being a little more rounded and they are difficult to clean with so many nooks and crannies for food to get stuck in.
At £10 they are expensive but worth it to make mealtimes more interesting for little ones. Jack see’s mealtimes as an ordeal, being strapped in unable to go where he wants, with boring cutlery and Mummy and Daddy shovelling food in his and their faces. With the construction eating set Jack can bring his love of vehicles to the dinner table and learning to feed himself becomes a game. We will definitely be taking these with us to Nanny and Grandad’s house over Christmas for some construction fun during Christmas dinner.
