Creative play with Toyella
Award winning toy manufacturers Toyella have set myself and fellow bloggers a fantastic challenge, to write about our children embracing their creativity through play.
Music has been a massive part of my life since I was born, I used to boogie round the living room as a toddler to Queen. At primary school age my mother paid for me to have piano lessons and by the time I was in college the full rocker had appeared, complete with drum and guitar lessons and my own band.
Jack is a chip off the old block, we have never pushed music or a specific genera on him but he has picked up on my love of rock, blues and classic rock and roll.
Here he is at 6 months old, classic animal from the Muppets.
ACDC is one of our favourite bands and we spend the journey to nursery singing away and deafening Daddy.
My mum is exactly the same as Jack and I with the added bonus of the space and wage to own lots of instruments, which we take full advantage of whenever we visit.
My chosen video and picture were taken last weekend. We let our hair down on Saturday night and rocked out to some ACDC, using the guitars from the wii and my real guitar for maximum effect.
They show Jack learning about self expression and that its ok to be unique. He is embracing the rhythm of the music and letting it flow out through his desire to dance away the night. Through music Jack is perfecting his motor skills and we use it as a form of bonding by sharing favourite bands and songs.
